City man, 33, facing

several drug charges

CHAUTAUQUA – On Friday at 5:30 p.m., officers of the Dunkirk Police Department located and arrested Noel Rodriguez, 33, of Dunkirk, who had an outstanding Chautauqua County Grand Jury indictment warrant charging him seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree criminal sale of controlled substance.

Rodriguez was taken into custody and at the time was found to be in possession of cocaine.

He had been indicted after Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley’s office presented information from the members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

Rodriguez was taken to the City of Dunkirk Jail and then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

He is pending arraignment.

This arrest culminates an investigation into cocaine trafficking in the City of Dunkirk that has been ongoing for several months.

SILVER CREEK – On Monday at around 12:13 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed over the posted limit.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the operator of the vehicle identified himself as Joshua C. Stull, 37, of Silver Creek. Further investigation found that Stull had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Stull was taken into custody by deputies and charged with driving while intoxicated common law, driving while intoxicated per se, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .18 percent or higher, and speeding zone. He was issued traffic tickets and released to a sober part.

JAMESTOWN – On Dec. 19, Ruth Santiago, 30, of Dunkirk and Ricardo Garcia, 26, of Dunkirk were issued appearance tickets for third-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument, and two counts of misuse of food stamps.

Allegedly the couple failed to report income from Nov. 1, 2012 to Feb. 28, 2013. This failure resulted in the couple receiving more than $4,000 in unentitled benefits.

Santiago and Garcia are scheduled to appear in the City of Jamestown Court.

New York State Police, Jamestown

SINCLAIRVILLE – On Friday, New York State Police Jamestown arrested James G. Hancock, 52, of Sinclairville for drug possession.

Hancock was observed failing to stop at a stop sign and subsequently found to be in possession of 20 grams of marijuana and a smoking device containing marijuana residue.

Hancock was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to stop for a stop sign returnable to the Town of Charlotte Court on Jan. 7.

VILLENOVA – On Sunday, State Police Jamestown troopers arrested Harmony Griffin, 37, of Buffalo, for driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for speeding on Route 83 in the Town of Villenova. Griffin provided a breath sample of .15 percent BAC.

He was charged with DWI and speeding and released. Griffin is to appear in the Town of Villenova Court on Jan 2.

JAMESTOWN – New York State Police Jamestown is investigating the theft of a specialized $500 red bicycle taken from the porch of a residence on Route 394 in Kennedy on Sunday.
