Anne M. (Gillette) Lopez-Garcia, loving mother and devoted wife, 56, of Dunkirk died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at home.
Anne was born April 24, 1957 in Dunkirk, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles E. Gillette and Ann I. (Gillette) Reilly. She left behind her soul mate and loving husband, Javier Lopez-Garcia and his fami-ly, Raul Garcia, Jose Luis Garcia, Jorge Garcia, Mary Huerta, Patty Huerta, Lupe Garcia and Alicia Garcia.
Also surviving are her daughters Jeanette Delgado and her children, Alexis Delgado, Brianna Clark, Isabella Paredes, Ilianna Paredes; daughter Catherine (Cosme) Beckwith, son-in-law Kenneth Beckwith and their children, Elijah Conley, Anastasia Beck-with; son Edgardo Delgado II and child Megan Delgado; son, Angelo Delgado and his son, Anthony Lui; son Javier Garcia, age 7; grandmother Jeanette L. Morgan; brothers, Charles E. Gillette, Martin W. Gillette, Robert E. Gillette, James W. Reilly; sisters, Linda S. (Gillette) Richardson and Theresa C. (Gillette) Speziale; and stepfather, James M. Reilly.
Anne was a lifelong resident of Dunkirk and graduated from Dunkirk Senior High School in 1975. Anne studied liberal arts and sciences and earned an associate’s degree in science at Jamestown Community College in 2005.
She graduated on the Dean’s List, a member of Phi Theta Kappa and founder and president of the self defense Academy at JCC North County Center. She received an honorary Black Belt in self-defense for defendercise.
Anne loved music, playing the piano and being a home maker. Services and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
