Gerald and Carol (Maslach) Kozlowski
On Nov. 30, 2013, Carol (Maslach) and Gerald A. Kozlowski celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends attended a Mass of Thanksgiving at Blessed Mary Angela Church concelebrated by the Rev. Matt Nycz and the Rev. Michael Parker. Musical selections were performed by Terri Helwig and Tim VanWey accompanied by the parish choir. The couple was presented with a blessing from Pope Francis.
A reception hosted by their children Lisa Kozlowski, Laura and David Beehler and Allison Kozlowski was held at the St. Hedwig’s Social Center following the ceremony. The couple also has six grandchildren: Kiara Boyd, Amari Carter, Marcel Carter, Neveah Carter, Jessica Beehler and James Beehler.
The couple was married on Nov. 30, 1963 at St. Hyacinth’s Church by the Rev. John Suplicki. Members of their wedding party included Sandra Maslach Tapasto, Peggy Stranz, Beatrice Price, Beverly Wallace Stybarski, Kathy Kuzdzal Partridge, Roberta Schultz Gloss, Thomas Wlodarek, James Bahn, Richard Stybarski, Paul Duffin, the late Jack Jesse and David Koscielny.
Gerald retired from True Temper and BFI. Carol retired from Brooks Memorial Hospital where she served as vice president for nursing for several years. An actively involved person, she currently serves as co-coordinator of the Dunkirk Senior Citizens.
