Two men charged following incident at Peek ‘n Peak ski resort
FRENCH CREEK – Two men from Pennsylvania have been charged following an alleged incident at Peek ‘n Peak Sunday.
Zackary Pfeffer, 21, of Girard, Pa., and Nathan Erie, 21, of Fairview, Pa., were both charged after security staff had observed Pfeffer allegedly jump onto a wooden fence, causing damage at 5:15 p.m.
Through investigation it was found Pfeffer and Erie had both allegedly failed to purchase a lift pass.
Pfeffer was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of service and Erie was charged with theft of services.
Both were released to appear in French Creek Town Court.
Gowanda man injures trooper during arrest
GOWANDA – In a report received Tuesday, a Trooper from Buffalo State Police responded to a report of a one-car property damage auto accident on I-190.
While interviewing the driver the trooper noticed signs of intoxication and performed field sobriety testing, which the driver, Wade F. Wampler, 36, of Gowanda, failed and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
During handcuffing, Wampler began struggling with the trooper and was eventually handcuffed with the assistance of Buffalo Fire personnel.
While being placed in the State Police vehicle Wampler continued to resist arrest and began kicking the trooper.
Wampler has been charged with second-degree assault (D Felony), resisting arrest (A Misdemeanor), obstructing governmental administration (E Felony), false personation (B Misdemeanor), and driving while intoxicated.
He is currently being held in the City of Buffalo Police lockup awaiting arraignment.
The trooper was treated and released from Erie County Medical Center.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office
PERRYSBURG – Nathan F. Nephew, 35, of Van Vleck Road was charged with a violation of probation on Dec. 18 for a warrant issued from Perrysburg Town Court.
Nephew was taken into custody and arraigned in Persia Town Court. He was held on $1,000 bail to appear in Perrysburg Town Court at a later date.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office
SHERIDAN – Zuleika Belardo-Sanchez, 23, of Lancaster, Pa., was involved in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday.
Deputies responded to Route 5 at 12 p.m. when Belardo-Sanchez’s vehicle allegedly struck a guard rail on the north side of the road.
She was uninjured, but her vehicle sustained heavy damage. There were no charges reported.
