Mediumship development workshop under way

LILY DALE – The Church of the Living Spirit is sponsoring a unique mediumship development workshop, with classes offered 7 to 8:30 p.m., each Monday in January, ending Jan. 27.

“Awakening The Medium In You,” will be presented by Jessie Furst, Lily Dale registered medium and healer. “When you incorporate all of your abilities, follow directions, and practice skills, you can build that bridge from this world to the next. It’s in every one of us!” the ordained minister says. Classes will focus on learning to use meditation, the fine tuning of awareness, and exploration of the many avenues of Spirit communication. Donation, $5.

In other events, Dr. Neal Rzepkowski, will be guest lecturer at the first church service of 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

On Sunday, following services, the church hosts Medium Sunday, including a fellowship brunch at the Lily Dale Fire Hall, and mini-readings at Assembly Hall, at 1:15 p.m. Mini-reading registrations must be obtained at the fire hall during the brunch. Brunch $5 ($2 children); $10 for a mini-reading. Medium Sunday is scheduled on the second Sunday of each month.

The Community Healing Service, takes place 7:30 p.m., each Wednesday at the Healing Temple, East Street. The service includes an hour of music, prayer, hands-on healing, and messages. Visiting and student healers and mediums are invited to serve.

Also, from 6 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday, Kasey Way, certified yoga instructor, offers “Gentle Yoga,” at Assembly Hall.

African Djembe Drumming, led by George Cleese is scheduled 7:30 p.m., on first, third, and fifth Thursdays of each month at Assembly Hall.

Beginners and experienced drummers are invited. Cleese says extra drums are available. The next such session will take place Jan. 16.
