Snowplow driver charged after allegedly driving drunk

LAKEWOOD – A snowplow driver has been charged after allegedly driving drunk on Jan. 3. Bruce James, of Ashville was charged after reportedly driving erratically on Fairmount Avenue and crashing into a ditch on Hern Avenue. Upon investigation, it was found that James was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable or prudent, failure to keep right, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released to appear in Busti Town Court.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

SHERIDAN – John-David Gozdzlak, 48, of East Main Road was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding on Thursday. At 8:56 a.m. police stopped a vehicle on Route 20 for allegedly speeding. Gozdzlak was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop. He was released to appear in Sheridan Town Court at a later date.

Dunkirk Police Department

Shaqua McCullum, 21, of Swan Street was charged with operating an uninspected and uninsured motor vehicle, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and a broken windshield on Sunday.

Bridget Putnam, 22, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny on Monday.

Sara Leone, 23, of Washington Avenue was charged with second-degree harassment on Monday.

Nancy Halftown, 49, of Lincoln Avenue Upper was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Tuesday.

John Morain, 38, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with second-degree harassment, endangering the welfare of a child, governmental obstruction and resisting arrest on Thursday.

Fredonia Police Department

Thomas Storer, 43, of Route 380, Stockton, was charged with having an expired inspection and unlicensed operation on Jan. 2.

Robert Stalter, 53, of Portland was charged with having an expired inspection and passing in a no-pass zone on Tuesday.

Matthew Messere, 22, of Willowbrook Avenue, Dunkirk, Jamie Jackson, 22, of East Courtney Street, Dunkirk, and Jorge DeJesus, 21, of North Roberts Road, Dunkirk, were all charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Wednesday.

John Rawlinson, 74, of Watson Avenue, Westfield, was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a traffic light on Wednesday.

According to an accident report, around 11:40 a.m., Eric Prince, 46, of Wentworth Road, Forestville, was attempting to turn left from Bennett Road onto East Main Street on a green arrow. Rawlinson allegedly turned right from Bennett Road onto East Main Street on a red light, thus striking Prince.

Timothy Schrader, 27, of Route 380, Brocton, was charged with petit larceny on Thursday.
