Applications being taken for city

sidewalk program

The city of Dunkirk Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for the 2014 Sidewalk Replacement Program.

Residents can call 366-9832 to fill out an application over the phone or stop by the DPW office in City Hall during regular business hours.

Applicants who applied for last year’s program, but did not participate, must reapply this season. Applications are not carried over from last year.

Reimbursement is at $2 per square foot and the program is on a first-come, first served basis.

Approval letters for program participants will be mailed in the spring after a pre-inspection is completed.

The program covers only the main pedestrian sidewalk fronting the residence.

Applicants are requested to have some idea as to how much sidewalk they wish replaced under the program. Further information can be obtained by contacting the Public Works office.
