Interstate car chase results in injuries, charges

A 43-year-old Pennsyl-vania woman was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in the town of Dunkirk Saturday evening.

According to the Chau-tauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 10 p.m., deputies were alerted to the vehicle chase engaged by Pennsylvania State Police that had started in North East, Pa., and crossed into New York state on Route 5. Christina Trump, 43, of North East, Pa., apparently failed to stop her vehicle when contacted by police.

As the pursuit continued on Route 5, deputies were able to successfully deploy spike strips, disabling the suspect vehicle’s tires. Trump reportedly continued to operate her vehicle for several more miles, but then left the roadway and struck a utility pole near Willow Road, severing it.

Trump was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for apparently minor injuries. She was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, as well as multiple traffic charges in both New York and Pennsylvania.

Trump was arraigned in Dunkirk Town Court and remanded to the county jail on $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 property bond.

The New York State Police and Westfield Police assisted in the incident.

SILVER CREEK – Diana Breaux, 32, of Silver Creek was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Friday.

Around 11 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Main Street for a possible past-tense burglary. Breaux voluntarily turned herself in when she unlawfully entered a residence after allegedly having prior knowledge of abandoned animals inside the dwelling.

Breaux will appear in Silver Creek Village Court at a later date.

MAYVILLE – Ronald Reichardt, 51, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, failure to maintain a lane and having a loud exhaust on Sunday.

Around 1:55 a.m., deputies reportedly stopped a vehicle on West Lake Road after observing a lane violation and noting the vehicle had an excessively loud exhaust. Following an investigation, Reichardt was allegedly found to be intoxicated.

He will be arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court later.

SILVER CREEK – Mary Voss, 37, of Dunkirk was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without an interlock device and operating an uninspected motor vehicle on Sunday.

Around 10 a.m., deputies reportedly stopped Voss’ vehicle on Central Avenue with an expired inspection sticker. Voss was allegedly found to be driving on a revoked New York state driver’s license. She was also reportedly found to be violating her restrictions by operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device installed.

Voss will appear in Silver Creek Village Court at a later date.
