Lillian Barnes, age 98, of Park Avenue, Dunkirk, NY died Sunday (Jan. 12, 2014) at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk.
She was born Oct. 10, 1915 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Rowan) Williamson.
A Dunkirk resident for most of her life, Mrs. Barnes was a retired sales clerk for Sidey’s Department Store.
She was an active member for many years with St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, where she served on a number of church councils and committees.
Survivors include her son, Frank William Barnes of Las Vegas, Nev.; her daughter, Jean Kubera of Dunkirk; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank A. Barnes; and her sister, Elton Rudolph.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Satur-day, Jan. 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church. The Rev. Helen Sam and the Rev. Yvonne Fancher will officiate. A luncheon will be held in the church hall following the service. Private interment will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Newman Funeral Home Inc.
