NY Farm Bureau president’s statement on the new commissioner of ag and markets

ALBANY – “New York Farm Bureau commends Governor Andrew Cuomo on making the excellent choice of Richard Ball to become the next Agriculture and Markets Commissioner. Anyone who meets Richard can see his passion and commitment for New York agriculture. He is a true statesman among farmers in New York, conscientious by nature, and his knowledge will serve the diversity of our farms well as he begins the next chapter of his career.

Richard is a longtime member of New York Farm Bureau and currently serves on our Board of Directors and Executive Committee, posts he will be giving up to assume his new position with the Administration. On behalf of all of our members, I would like to congratulate my good friend for this well-deserved appointment, and I look forward to continuing to work with him and the Governor for the betterment of every farmer in the state,” said Dean Norton, President of New York Farm Bureau.
