AARP offers Defensive Driving in Collins

The first AARP Defensive Driving Course for 2014 has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 4 at L. K Painter Community Center, Main Street, Collins. The one day course will begin at 9 a.m. in the Center’s Community Room with a half hour lunch break at noon, and end at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Price has been raised by AARP to $20 for those with valid AARP membership cards and $25 for all others. Pre-registration is required and can only be made by calling Joan R. Byrne, Senior Program Coordinator, at 532-2507. Payment made out to AARP must be made within five days of making telephone registration and sent to Collins Town Hall, attention AARP, P.O. Box 420, Collins, NY 14034. Payment must be by check or money order. Cash is not accepted.

Participants may bring a bag lunch if they so wish; however, a luncheon made by members of the 50-Plus Senior Program will be available but must be ordered when making their phone reservation. Cost of lunch is $2.50 per person to be paid in cash the morning of the course.

Participants are asked to use the back parking lot of the Center and must bring their driver’s license and a pen with them.
