Speaker series offered by McCord Library

A speaker series hosted by the Friends of McCord Memorial Library is scheduled for February. The presentations will be held at 32 West Main St. North East, Pa. on Saturdays at 10 a.m. The building is wheelchair accessible. Everyone is welcome.

Feb. 1 Cruising the Amazon River; Eric and Nancy Marshall, North East residents and world travelers.

Beginning at Rio de Janeiro during Carnival, the Marshalls will describe their cruise along the Brazilian coast and into the Amazon River, where they traveled 1,000 miles and visited native villages.

Feb. 8 George Washington: Diplomat, Spy and Soldier; Greg Henning, North East educator and living history interpreter.

Learn about Washington’s journey to Fort LeBoeuf and his unknown years before becoming commander of the Continental Army and the first President of the USA.

Feb. 15 Nepal and the Himalayas; Barb Fynan, North East resident and avid hiker.

From Katmandu to the soaring heights of the Himalayas, Barb will share her adventures from the other side of the world.

Feb. 22 Native Americans of Erie County; Andrew Adamus, Erie County Historical Society educator.

Come and experience the life of the Eriez and Iroquois Indians, who lived in our region during the pre-Colonial period.
