Three charged after search in Pomfret

A search of a Pomfret residence Saturday led to three being charged with criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to a press release, around 11:45 a.m., the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Town of Pomfret Constable executed a search warrant at 9587 Route 60.

Three subjects were found inside the residence along with two children under the age of 5.

Melanie Green, 37 of Silver Creek, Laura Lewetzski, 26, and Sara Tolbert, 35, both of Fredonia, were charged and taken into custody.

The Chautauqua County Haz Mat Team and Fredonia Fire Department also responded to the scene and assisted with the recovery and removal of toxic items of evidence from the residence.

The subjects were arraigned in the Pomfret Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond.

Investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

WESTFIELD – Brian Peters, 54, of Hamburg, was taken into custody after it was discovered he was wanted on a felony warrant issued by the Hamburg Town Court.

Peters was found walking east on Route 20 in the town of Westfield after allegedly acting suspiciously in a Ripley restaurant.

Peters was wanted for third-degree criminal mischief. He was taken to the village of Hamburg Police Department.

Jeffery Greiner, 37, of Union City, Pa., was charged Friday with unlawful possession of marijuana, following a traffic stop Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret.

Troopers stopped Greiner for a broken head lamp around 9:30 p.m. and allegedly noticed the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

A search of vehicle allegedly found he was in possession of a marijuana smoking pipe and approximately seven grams of marijuana.

Greiner is scheduled to appear in the Pomfret Town Court at a later date.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

WESTFIELD – Matthew R. Jaynes, 32, of Westfield was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, failure to dim high beams and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration on Tuesday. At 8:24 p.m. deputies observed Jaynes’ vehicle allegedly fail to dim high beams on approaching traffic on North Portage Street. During the traffic stop, Jaynes was found to be in alleged possession of several controlled substances and had an alleged suspended registration. He will appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date. Westfield Police Department assisted with this call.

  • Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an altercation at a residence around 4 a.m. Saturday on Route 5 in the town of Pomfret.

It was alleged Victor M. Candelaria, 33, of Rochester, was present at the residence with a female that had an active court order of protection directing that Candelaria stay away from her. Candelaria was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal contempt.

He was arraigned in the Pomfret Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
