DHS athletes set new school records at Brockport
BROCKPORT – The Dunkirk Marauders’ indoor track and field team was among the 40-plus teams that competed at the Brockport Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The competition was tough, but the Marauders came away with three new school records while tying another.
The girls 4×200-meter relay team of Samantha Hemenger, Calan Porgorzelski, Emilee Hanlon and Faith Rivera set a new school record with a time of 1:55.55. The old record, set last year, was 1:56.33.
The girls 4×400 record also fell Saturday as Porgorzelski, Hanlon, Rivera and Savia Moreland crossed the finish line in a record-setting time of 4:31.82. The old record of 4:34.44 was set just a couple of weeks ago.
Rivera also tied the girls high jump record with a leap of 4-feet, 9-inches while Hanlon’s time of 7.90 seconds in the 55 was good enough to qualify for Sectionals.
On the boys’ side, the quartet of Ray Tarnowski, Jose Morales, Miguel Alicea and Nick Barlette broke the old 4×200 school record (1:39.44) in 1:36.90.
Alicea also qualified for Sectionals in the 300 with a qualifying time of :39.01.
