Driver charged following high-speed vehicle chase

JAMESTOWN – An unidentified driver was taken into custody Friday after reportedly leading a high-speed vehicle chase from Coldspring to Jamestown.

At approximately 4 p.m., New York State Troopers reported a chase in progress with a black 2001 Ford Expedition that was traveling westbound on I-86. After taking Exit 12 onto Route 60, into Jamestown, state troopers reportedly ceased their pursuit due to public safety reasons, and handed responsibility over to the Jamestown Police Department.
