Steklasa cracks 234 game in Knights win
SILVER CREEK – Silver Creek (24-8) swept Clymer (13.5-18.5), 4-0. It’s linescore read 969-876-905-2,740 while the Pirates shot a 681-706-608-1,995 at Lakeview Lanes.
The Black Knights were led by Tyler Steklasa’s 234-185-181-600.
“He is one of my seniors and he has just been really consistent all year,” Silver Creek coach Jason Mirek said.
Tim Manning contributed in the win with a 246-581 while Robert Paterson charted a 209-193-576. Carl Cotroneo added a 204-544 for Silver Creek.
The Pirates received a 182-472 from Sam VanValkenburg. David Applebee finished with a 166-410 in defeat.
For the girls, Silver Creek (17-11)also earned the sweep of Clymer (7-17) with a linescore of 539-570-603-1,712 while the Lady Pirates rolled a 455-521-476-1,452.
The Black Knights’ Katie Dittiger cracked a 161-151-150-462 while Haylee Grover added a 158-439. Jamie Hehir finished with a 158-425 in the win.
Clymer was led by Janelle Engels’ 164-164-473.
Hornets sweep Thunderbirds
CUTTING – The Forestville Hornets stung the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds on Wednesday in high school bowling.
In the girls’ match, Forestville (26-2) swept Chautauqua Lake (3-25), 4-0, with a linescore of 580-469-568-1,617 compared to the Lady Thunderbirds’ 439-437-488-1,364 at Cutting Lanes.
The Lady Hornets were led by Sarah Pleva’s 161-142-154-457 and Emily Narraway had a 169.
Heather Sullivan led Chautauqua Lake with a 153-167-148-468. Emily Paulus charted a 153 game in a losing effort.
For the boys, Forestville (27-9) also swept Chautauqua Lake (.5-35.5). Its linescore read 785-816-851-2,452 while Chautauqua Lake bowled a 581-578-596-1,755.
The Hornets received a 193-181-215-589 from Brad Dillenburg. Phillip Narraway rolled a 194-199-541 and John Murphy charted a 160-203-172-535 in the win.
The Thunderbirds’ AJ Utegg cracked a 164-156-209-529.
Cardinals fly past Bulldogs
JAMESTOWN – The Randolph Cardinals (22-14) took three games from the Brocton Bulldogs (17-19) on Wednesday in high school bowling action.
Randolph’s linescores read 818-718-732-2,268 compared to Brocton’s 735-724-720-2,179 at Jamestown Bowling Company.
Top bowlers for Randolph were Skyler Schapp with a 182-182-528 and Marcus Miller with a 177-484.
Brocton was led by Anthony Miller’s 225-185-563 and Taylor Delcamp’s 179-461.
Billies take care of Golden?Falcons
Fredonia’s boys and girls bowling teams earned wins over CCAA West I foe Falconer on Wednesday at Lucky Lanes.
In the boys’ match, the Hillbillies (20-16) won with a linescore of 938-930-869-2,737 to Falconer’s 809-744-665-2,218, and were led by Ricky Burgstrom, who rolled a 225-573. Also for the Hillbillies, Collin Shanzlin charted a 202 and Nick Pagano had a 199.
Falconer (1-31) was led by Tyler Himes, who rolled a 203-538 while Trystin Lee had a 181.
In the girls’ match, the Lady Hillbillies beat the Lady Golden Falcons, 757-807-873-2,437 to 583-530-572-1,685.
Fredonia (32-4) was led by Genna Riddle’s 225-195-586 while Elizabeth Valvo chipped in a 199 and Taryn Wojkowiak a 191.
For the Lady Golden Falcons, Jessica Zdulski had a 130-363.
