SUNYAC selects Mulcahy for weekly award

Fredonia State sophomore Collin Mulcahy has been chosen Men’s Track Athlete of the Week by the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

Mulcahy ran a 4:13.25 mile Saturday at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational in Boston, Mass., on the 300-meter oval inside the Reggie Lewis Center. Mulcahy’s time is currently the seventh-fastest mile in NCAA Division III this winter.

He also ran a leg on the Blue Devils’ Distance Medley Relay which posted a time of 10:13.98, second-fastest in program history.

Mulcahy is the first Fredonia State track and field athlete, male or female, to receive a weekly SUNYAC award this winter.

Prior to receiving recognition from the conference, Mulcahy was chosen as one of two Fredonia State Student-Athletes of the Week. Women’s basketball player Jaimie Warren is the other.
