CoSIDA cites Hebert for district award
Fredonia State senior guard Becky Hebert has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District women’s basketball team.
Hebert was selected to the District 3 team on the strength of her athletic and academic accomplishments. She is now eligible for the Academic All-American team, chosen from among all eight NCAA districts.
A four-year player, Hebert is Fredonia State’s all-time leading scorer with 1,396 points and is averaging 22.0 points per game. She leads the SUNYAC in scoring and is among the NCAA Division III leaders in points per game, career points, and career points per game.
She led the SUNYAC in scoring after her sophomore and junior seasons.
Academically, Hebert is a Math Education major and carries a 3.44 cumulative grade-point average with one semester remaining.
Other NCAA Division III District 3 winners are Hannan Senftleber and Cyndi Matsuoka of Vassar, Courtney Tennant of Rochester Institute of Technology, Amanda Lynch of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Rebecca Yoshor of Yeshiva.
Hebert and her teammates will be back in action this weekend with SUNYAC home games Friday and Saturday against Cortland and Oswego, respectively.
