NYSSA, Allstate partner to deliver PSA on snowmobile safety

PINE BUSH – The New York State Snowmobile Association and Allstate Insurance have come together to deliver a televised public service announcement that warns of the dangers of drinking and riding.

“Promoting safe, sober and responsible riding is very much at the core of the Association’s mission,” said NYSSA Executive Director Dominic Jacangelo. “We are pleased this strong partnership with Allstate has allowed us to deliver this important message to a wide audience across the Empire State.”

The 30-second spot was produced as part of the longstanding partnership between NYSSA and Allstate. The insurance company offered Dennis Haysbert, whose face and voice is instantly recognizable from his many roles in Allstate commercials, to provide the voiceover for the PSA.

The PSA is available for viewing on NYSSA’s Youtube page.

“Allstate is extremely proud of our longstanding partnership with the New York State Snowmobile Association. From our very first meeting nearly seven years ago, Allstate and NYSSA committed to focus all of our energy and resources on one critical mission: Rider safety and education,” said Jeff Calderon, senior regional marketing manager for Allstate. “One of our recent endeavors, a Public Service Announcement featuring Dennis Haysbert, illustrates how a powerful brand like Allstate supports ‘The Good’ of corporate community partners. We look forward to building upon this relationship for the betterment of the sport and safety of riders across New York state.

The PSA is shot from the viewpoint of a snowmobile rider taking a winding, wooded path. The video is intended to be a dramatization of the behavior of an intoxicated driver. Haysbert’s voice delivers a message that ticks off the dangers that are presented by drinking and riding:

“When you hit the trails this season, the last thing you want is impaired vision, poor judgment, delayed reaction time and a false sense of confidence,” the ad advises. “It’s a danger to all riders, including you. Please don’t drink and ride.”

“We know that intoxicated riders represent a small minority of all snowmobile riders,” said Jacangelo. “That said, even one rider who drinks before operating a snowmobile presents a danger to every rider on the trail. We’re glad we could partner with Allstate to deliver this vital message.”
