Friends of Anderson-Lee Library holding membership drive in Feb.
Friends of Anderson Lee Library will be holding their annual membership drive this month. Current members will be receiving a renewal notice in the mail. The group is comprised of local businesses and individuals. Its mission is to stimulate the use of the library’s resources and services, to encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library, and to support and cooperate with the library in the development and expansion of library services and facilities for the community.
This year the group held a bake sale, a book sale and a raffle besides generating contributions from membership dues.
Some of the items that were purchased with the profits were two rotating book racks for paperback displays, a paper shredder, a laminator, a coffee table for the reading area, a colorful rug for the children’s area, two roving book carts and a Kindle for a prize to be used in the summer reading program.
The Friends also provided two workshops by the author Jan Marinsky and supported Anderson Lee’s 50th anniversary celebration.
New members would be warmly welcomed. Information and forms will be available at the library’s desk.
