Manuel Antonio Pagan

Manuel Antonio Pagan, of Fredonia, NY, age 70, died after struggling with cancer, on Thursday February 6, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 18, 1943 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico to the late Rufino Pagan and Obdulia Gracia Pagan.

Mr. Pagan worked at Red Wing and had a 30-year career at the Niagara Mohawk Dunkirk Steam Station (NRG). He retired in 2003.

Mr. Pagan enjoyed walking, puttering around the house, taking long car drives, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Privateer Pagan, of Fredonia; two daughters, Lisa (Douglas) Noni of Horseheads, N.Y. and Beth (Gene) Dunn of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; a brother Bienvenido (Myrna) Pagan, of Jayuya, Puerto Rico and a sister Iris (Jose) Rodriquez also of Jayuya, Puerto Rico; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mr. Pagan is preceded in death by two brothers, Miguel and Angel Pagan.

Friends may call Sunday 4-7 p.m. at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, where prayers will be offered Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church, Fredonia on Monday at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be made at The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many doctors, nurses and caregivers who took care of Manuel.
