Bid for HVAC system awarded in Sheridan

SHERIDAN – The bid for a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system and exhaust fans in the new Sheridan Town Courthouse has been awarded to Guarcello’s Heating & Plumbing Inc.

The Sheridan Town Board accepted the bid during a recent special meeting. Supervisor Louis Delmonte said two proposals were received.

“One is from Vecchio Brothers Heating & Cooling here in Sheridan, and the other is from Guarcello’s in Silver Creek,” he said. “We looked at them at 3 p.m. (prior to the meeting) and did the comparison on them.”

Guarcello’s bid came in at $9,200 while Vecchio Brothers submitted two different proposals for $11,825 and $10,900. The smaller Vecchio Brothers bid was for a smaller unit, according to Delmonte. The smaller unit was the same unit included in the Guarcello’s bid.

Councilman Richard Feinen told the OBSERVER the courthouse, which will occupy the former St. John Bosco Church building, is expected to be up and running in April.
