Dorothy S. Tarbox

COLLINS Dorothy S. Tarbox, 103, formerly of Maple Avenue, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville, NY.

She was born January 14, 1911 in Holland, NY the daughter of the late Leon and Maude (Phillips) Spencer.

Mrs. Tarbox was married to Donald H. Tarbox, who predeceased her on Sept. 23, 1991.

She was a graduate of Holland High School and Buffalo State College. She taught 1st grade in Clarence from 1930-1951 and 3rd grade in Collins, NY from 1951-1965.

Mrs. Tarbox was a member of the Collins Volunteer Fireman’s Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, James Spencer.

She is survived by two nephews and a niece; 11 great nieces and nephews and 14 great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the Collins Center United Methodist Church, with Rev. Fred Holdridge, officiating.

Burial will be in Collins Center Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Collins Volunteer Fire Department.
