Fredonia Little League registration

Fredonia Little League will hold registration for baseball and softball on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fredonia High School cafeteria.

Registration will be held for the following divisions: boys and girls t-ball, ages 4-6, boys and girls Hathaway League, ages 6-8, Cerrie League baseball, ages 8-9, boys Wright League baseball, ages 10-12, and Senior boys baseball for ages 13-16.

In the softball division, registration will be held for teams in the minor league, ages 7-9, and major league, ages 10-12.

Participants must be a resident of the Fredonia Central School district.

The cost is $50 for t-ball and $75 for all other leagues including softball. There is a cap of $185 per family.

All new and returning players must register and a copy of a birth certificate is required for all new players.

Coaching and umpire applications will also be accepted at the registration session. All coaching applications, accompanied by a copy of a driver’s license, must be received by the FLL Board of Directors by March 3 in order to be considered for a coaching position.

Dunkirk Recreation Department Baseball Clinic

The Dunkirk Recreation Department will be offering an indoor baseball clinic for youths between ages 6 and 12. The clinic will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 19 and run each Wednesday until March 26.

The daily schedule is as follows: ages 6-9 from 5-6:15 p.m. and ages 9-12 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.

Clinic fee will be $25 for city residents for the six-week session.

Dunkirk Recreation Department continues offering indoor soccer

The Dunkirk Youth and Recreation Department will continue to offer an indoor soccer program for children in grades K-5 at the Recreation Center. Session 2 will begin on Feb. 24 and runs through March 24.

Grades K-2 are on Monday from 4 to 5 p.m. and grades 3-5 are also on Monday from 5-6:30 p.m.

Brian Wojcinski led the Vet’s CLub with five goals. Justin Giles added two goals while Jeff Cerrie had two and Pat Westin had one.

Austin White scored Coughlan’s lone goal.

Monnies 10, First Ward Falcons 3

Steve Skryzpek scored three goals to lead Monnies while Josh Tarnowski added two goals in the win. Other goals for Monnies were scored by Eric Tarnowski (2), Billy Kuras (2) and Matt Ginley.

Bob Kokocinski had two goals for First Ward Falcons and Dennis Gawronski added a goal in the loss.
