City man charged with allegedly selling drugs
A Dunkirk man has been charged after an investigation into the alleged sales of narcotics within the city of Dunkirk. Ricardo Maldonado, 34, of Columbus Avenue was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on Thursday.
According to the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, Maldonado was taken into custody at 4 p.m., on an arrest warrant issued by Dunkirk City Court Judge Walter Drag. These charges stem from an investigation over the past several months by the task force. It is alleged Maldonado sold quantities of heroin to agents of the task force.
He was arraigned in Dunkirk City Court where bail was set at $30,000 cash or $60,000 property. Maldonado was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail where he is being held pending further action of the court. Additional charges are expected to be filed at a later date.
