High wind warning issued for county

BUFFALO – The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a high wind warning which is in effect until 10 p.m. Friday for Chautauqua and Southern Erie counties. Winds from the southeast will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph tonight, then southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph Friday and Friday evening.

Winds of this magnitude will bring down some trees and power lines and result in scattered power outages. Travel will be difficult in high profile vehicles, especially along the New York State Thruway.
