Police probing Busti fire

BUSTI – The Chau-tauqua County Fire Invest-igation Team is investigating a fire on Wellman Road which occurred Sunday afternoon. The fire was reported at the single-family residence shortly after 3 p.m.

There was no one home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The home is a total loss and the family is being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire still remains under investigation by the fire investigation team and the Lakewood-Busti Police Department.

New York State Police at Jamestown

POLAND – On Friday, New York State Police arrested Steven R. Patterson, 42, of Jamestown for driving while intoxicated.

Patterson was transported to Jamestown State Police after a blood alcohol level of .16 percent was obtained. He was issued tickets for parked on the pavement, littering and driving while intoxicated returnable to the Town of Poland Court.

Patterson was released to a third party.

GERRY – On Friday, Jamestown State Police arrested Mario Adams, 24, of Jamestown.

Adams was found to be in possession of a switch blade knife.

He was placed into custody and transported to Jamestown State Police for processing.

Adams was issued an appearance ticket for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon returnable to the Town of Gerry Court and released.

MINA – On Sunday, New York State Police arrested Gary W. Rafaloski, 59, of Mina after a domestic incident where he struck the victim, thereby violating an existing order of protection.

Rafaloski was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

He was arraigned in the Town of Clymer Court and was committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

Rafaloski is to appear in Town of Mina Court at a later date to answer to the charges.

SHERMAN – On Saturday, New York State Police arrested Daniel L. Fritz, 25, of Franklin, Pa., for drug possession.

Fritz was issued a traffic ticket for speeding and an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana returnable to the Town of Sherman Court.
