of Social Services

will host informational meeting Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Department of Social Ser-vices will host an informational meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Jamestown Com-munity College Training Center North Campus, Bennett Road, Dunkirk for those interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent. Foster parents are needed for children of all ages and those willing to accept sibling groups. For information, call 661-8212.

Gowanda alumni party

Alumni of Gowanda Central School, classes 1968, ’69, ’70 and ’71 are invited to a party being held Sept. 14 from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Gowanda American Legion.

Rec Center morning walk Monday to Friday

The Dunkirk Rec Center, located at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, offers a walking session Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 10 a.m. The cost is $1 per person.

Brocton universal

pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration to begin March 10

Brocton Elementary School will issue registration packets for students eligible for the universal pre-k and kindergarten classes for the 2014-15 school year on March 10 through March 14 between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Along with the completed packets a copy of a birth certificate, documented immunization records, and proof of residency are required.

To be eligible for pre-k children must turn 4 on or before Dec. 1, 2014. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must turn 5 on or before Dec. 1, 2014. If there are questions, call 792-2100.
