Raymond A. Danner

LITTLE VALLEY – Raymond Arthur Danner, 87, of Fair Oak Street, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his home.

He was born Nov. 4, 1926 in Cattaraugus, NY, the son of the late Martin and Ruby (Preston) Danner.

Mr. Danner was a WWII and Korean War Veteran having served in the US Navy. He was employed as a foreman for NY Telephone in Olean, NY for many years until his retirement.

He was married to the former Jerry Yvonne Burnmark, who predeceased him in October 1999.

He was a Past Fire Chief for the Little Valley Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a member of the Little Valley Ambulance Service and the Little Valley American Legion.

Mr. Danner is survived by a son, Martin (Cindy) Danner of Rawlins, WY; a daughter, Cindy Lou Danner of Harrodsburg, KY; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Bernard James Danner of Elmira, NY; four sisters Kathleen (Norm) Stein of Gowanda, NY, Frances Chmiel of Gowanda, NY, Mary Danner of Limestone, NY and Pat Miller of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by 2 brothers, Preston and Robert Danner; and a sister Jane Vogtli.

Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City Street in Little Valley, NY today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home.

Burial will be in Liberty Park Cemetery in Cattaraugus, NY.
