Dunkirk Harbor waterfowl watch March 8

Buffalo Audubon Society will host a Waterfowl Watch at Dunkirk Harbor on March 8 at 9 a.m. Join Buffalo Audubon Naturalist Tom Kerr for a 2-hour look at the congregation of diverse waterfowl at one of Lake Erie’s important bird areas. Participants should meet at the Central Avenue Pier in Dunkirk.

NY Ladies VFW Auxiliary President to visit area

The Chautauqua County Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be welcoming the Department of N.Y. LAVFW President Bonnie L. Burgy to their county meeting on Saturday, March 8 at 9:30 a.m. at the Sheridan Memorial VFW.

Please join them for a Dutch treat dinner in her honor on Friday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kosciuszko Club, 252 Nevins Street in Dunkirk.

Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ March 9

Relay for Life Team Lucky 777 will host its third annual Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ on March 9 at the First Ward Falcon Club, Lake Shore Drive, Dunkirk, from noon until sold out. Tickets are $9.

There will be a drive thru available, or eat in, and there will be a silent auction inside the club. To get pre-sale tickets you can call Gene Tarnowski at 366-7292, Linda Pencek at 785-5190, or Kurt Wolnik at 366-0001.

All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
