Janet L. Kibelsbeck, 78, of Dennison Road, Silver Creek died Friday, February 28, 2014, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness. She was born in Buffalo on May 30, 1935, the daughter of the late Howard F. and Bernice (Rath) Lau.
Mrs. Kibelsbeck was a graduate of Kensington High School, Class of 1953 and received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Buffalo State College. She worked as an Elementary School Teacher for Cassadaga Valley Central School and then for Silver Creek Central School, retiring in 1997.
Mrs. Kibelsbeck was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Silver Creek and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband Frank J. Kibelsbeck of Silver Creek, whom she married on October 22, 1960, in Buffalo; a son Erik (Jaime) Kibelsbeck, of Ithaca; a daughter Laura (Wade) Summers, of Southington, CT and a sister Sandra Lau, of Clarence Center. Also surviving are two grandsons Nathaniel and Kieran Summers.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church, Porter Avenue and Adams Street, Silver Creek, with Rev. Trevor J. Hahn, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Ever-green Lawn Cemetery, town of Hanover.
