Ashley Keller takes 3-meter board

ROCHESTER – Fredonia State senior Ashley Keller won the NCAA Division III regional 3-meter championship Saturday at Rochester Institute of Technology. She won the 1-meter yesterday and will be representing the Blue Devils at the national meet next month off both boards.

Keller scored 496.45 points and edged out Ithaca’s Nickie Griesemer by 11.45 points. Griesemer finished second to Keller off the 1-meter board, too.

Senior Katelyn Haley was third with 428.80 points. She also qualified for the NCAA meet.

Senior Breena Cogliandro 8th at 381.95 points. Junior Heather Colby 9th with 375.40.

Three Fredonia State divers competed in the 1-meter men’s regional qualifying meet on Saturday.

Freshman Jeff Matter finished third overall with a score of 463.35. Alec Fleet of Buffalo State won the competition with a score of 495.50.

Rafael Santiago, a sophomore, scored 443.75 points to finish sixth. Freshman Arron Carlson took seventh place with a score of 436.10.

The third place showing was not enough to get Matter into the NCAA meet just yet. He is listed as an alternate for the 1-meter board. Santiago is listed as an alternate off the 3-meter board.
