TCC?extending hours effective today

The Chautauqua Center, Family Medicine is extending their hours. Effective today, TCC will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Its goal is to meet the needs of the community, especially taking into consideration those who are employed. TCC is accepting new patients.

It offers same-day appointments and accepts most insurances.

The community is welcome to inquire about our services by calling 363-6050 or visiting TCC at 319 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

Fredonia Central

School pre-kindergarten and kindergarten

registration in progress

Registration for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten children for the 2014-15 school year is currently in progress at Fredonia Central School.

Children who will turn 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2014 are eligible for pre-kindergarten while children who will turn 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2014 are eligible for kindergarten.

Parents and guardians can call or stop by the elementary school office to enroll children and request registration packets.

Contact the Fredonia Elementary Office by June 1 at 679-1581 ext. 2740 to request a registration packet for either level.

Parents will need to provide the district with several important items when registering a child: proof of residency (such as a utility bill or rent receipt), a birth certificate or other legal evidence of the child’s age, the child’s immunization record, and the completed pre-kindergarten or kindergarten packet forms and materials.

Yoga/Pilates classes offered at Silver Creek Central on Thursdays

Yoga/Pilates classes will once again be offered through the Silver Creek Central Community Education Program.

A set of four classes on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. running March 6 to 27 will meet on the stage in the high school auditorium.

The registration fee is $20. To register, call 951-8111, leave a message referencing this class and a call- back number.

to hold workshop

The Persia Town Board will hold a workshop on March 12 at 6 p.m. before the regular board meeting.

VFW group welcomes state officer Saturday

The Chautauqua County Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars will welcome the Department of New York Ladies Auxiliary VFW President Bonnie L. Burgy to its county meeting on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Sheridan Memorial VFW.

Members and guests are invited to a dinner in her honor on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Kosciuszko Club, 252 Nevins St. in Dunkirk. RSVP to Joanne Warlikowski by Wednesday at 203-7150.

Pomfret Planning Board public hearing March 10

The Town of Pomfret Planning Board will hold a public hearing on March 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the town hall.

The board will review a plan for a minor subdivision of property located at 8049 Cummings Road.
