Man killed in Concord car crash

CONCORD – A 32-year-old man from southern Erie County is dead after an accident on Route 240 Saturday.
According to Buffalo media outlets, around 10:30 p.m., the man was operating a small car southbound on the road when he veered to the right side of the lane and then across the roadway into the northbound lane. The vehicle was then struck broadside by a pickup truck, sending it into a ditch.
The man’s name has not yet been released due to investigation by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
Weather conditions are suspected to have been at play, though the roadway was reportedly not snow-covered. An initial investigation revealed the man was not wearing a seatbelt.
The East Concord Fire Company responded to the scene and freed the man from the vehicle. He was transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, where he died shortly thereafter.
