Fredonia: Middle school makes cut
Bald can be beautiful – and lucrative.
Taking a page from the Forestville schools, the Fredonia Middle School raised funds for Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo by shaving the heads of some students and teachers. In all, more than $3,000 was raised.
Those taking the cut included: students Jack Swanson, Maia Amatuzzo, Riley Betts, Meredith Przybycien, Liam Huff and Ally Walton-Bald, who also donated her ponytail for Locks of Love, as well as teachers Jesse Beers and Tim Wright.
“This took off much bigger and much faster than I expected. Our friends in the high school have gotten on board with this … I’m overwhelmed and thrilled how much this took off,” said Principal Andrew Ludwig, who did the shaving. “It just speaks how great of a community we have when the teachers, students and staff come together.”
In this case, losing meant gaining.
