JMA adds Richard Burlett III to firm

Johnson, Mackowiak and Associates, LLP Certified Public Accountants and Consultants (JMA) is pleased to announce that the firm has hired Richard Burlett III as its newest accountant. As a staff accountant, he will be involved in all phases of the firm’s accounting functions, including individual, multi-state and corporate tax preparations. In addition, he will be responsible for preparing compiled and reviewed financial statements and assisting businesses and individuals with auditing, tax planning and projections.

Previously, Burlett worked for JMA as an intern while completing his bachelor of science degree in public accountancy from the SUNY Fredonia where he graduated summa cum laude. He is also a graduate of both Mercyhurst College with a bachelor of arts degree in hotel, restaurant and institutional management, as well as the PGA Professional Trade School.

Burlett brings with him 14 years of management experience, having worked as a PGA assistant golf professional at Chautauqua Institution Golf Club and as PGA head golf professional at Harbor Ridge Golf Course in Erie, Pa., before joining JMA.

He is a New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and Foundation for Accounting Education’s 2013 Excellence in Accounting Scholarship Award winner. He is also a member of Golden Key International Honour Society, Omicron Delta Epsilon and Delta Mu Delta, the honor society in business administration.
