Gowanda Fire Department to host pancake breakfast

GOWANDA – In conjunction with Maple Weekend in New York state, the Gowanda Fire Department will host a pancake breakfast for two weekends in March.

The annual fundraiser has been held since 2005, according to Marilyn Coudrey, publicity chair for the auxiliary. When the event first started, the fire department was approached by Paul Lesefske of Maple Glen Sugar House in Gowanda to see if the fire department would be interested in pairing up.

“Paul contacted us to see if we were interested,” Coudrey said. “Come for breakfast and go up (to Maple Glen Sugar House) to see how syrup is made.”

The pancake breakfast will be held on the weekends of March 22-23 and 29-30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children and free for children under the age of five. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

All proceeds will benefit the Gowanda Fire Department. The department is located 230 Aldrich St.
