Hanover veterans memorial committee members wanted

The town of Hanover is looking for residents interested in serving on a planning committee for the town’s veterans memorial. A meeting will be held on Tuesday in the supervisor’s office at 2 p.m. at the town hall.

All those who are interested in working on the memorial are encouraged to attend.

CCIDA to hold meeting in Dunkirk on Tuesday

The County of chautauqua Industrial Develop-ment Agency Board of Directors will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the SUNY Fredonia Incubator, 214 Central Ave. Dunkirk.

Gowanda registration for pre-kindergarten

Registration for pre-kindergarten children for the 2014-15 school year is currently in progress at Gowanda Central School. Openings are still available in the morning or afternoon session. Children who will turn 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2014 are eligible for pre-kindergarten. Students must reside within the Gowanda School district. Proof of residency is required.

Walking at city Rec Center in the morning

The city of Dunkirk Recreation Center at the County Fairgrounds will be open mornings for an adult walking program. Enjoy a morning walk, Monday through Friday; 7:30 to 10 a.m. Sessions run through the end of March. Fee is $1 per day. Punch cards are available for $10, which includes 16 walks.

County Certified Food Handler Class March 24

The next Chautauqua County Certified Food Handler Class will be held March 24 at the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services, Training Room #1, 2 Academy St. (Old Mayville High School), Mayville. Use the rear entrance facing the south parking lot next to bus garage.

Registration & sign-in is 12:30 p.m. Class is from 1 to 4 p.m. Preregistration is required. Call 753-4693 to register.

Villenova meeting rescheduled

The Wednesday town of Villenova meeting has been rescheduled to today at 7 p.m. at the town hall, Butcher Road, South Dayton.

Chautauqua County Legislature fracking presentation rescheduled

The County Legislature fracking presentation was canceled due to weather Wednesday.

The presentation has been rescheduled for March 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will take place in the legislature chambers in the Gerace Office Building in Mayville.
