United Way of Northern Chautauqua County to participate in Spring It On, Buffalo Niagara’s Day of Giving
United Way of Northern Chautauqua County has announced plans to participate in Spring It On, a 24-hour on-line fund-raising event designed to raise awareness and funds for not-for profit organizations throughout Western New York with a unique one-day focus.
United Way of Northern Chautauqua County will focus efforts on raising funds to support programs supporting Education, Income and Health offered by their Community Partner’s. Spring It On will be held on the first day of spring, Thursday from 8 a.m. until 8 a.m. Friday.
Spring It On was held for the first time in 2013 and raised more than $76,000 for 182 organizations in Erie and Niagara counties. The event seeks to mobilize citizens for one day of giving to strengthen and support our community. Individuals can make a one-time, secure, online donation to the local not-for-profit agency of their choice through a specially designed website at “http://www.springiton.org”>www.springiton.org. The event was created and is powered by the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County.
United Way of Northern Chautauqua County plans to encourage supporters to contribute during Spring It On through social media messaging, website communication and traditional marketing initiatives.
According to Deborah Tederous, United Way executive director, “Spring It On is a fun and exciting 24-hour fund-raiser that uses social media to engender excitement and spread word of the event. United Way of Northern Chautauqua County is one of nearly 250 organizations who have signed on so far to participate this year. Spring It On is modeled on similar events held in other cities across the country including Rochester’s successful ROC The Day event.
