Rev. Richard A. Massar

LACKAWANNA The Rev. Richard A. Massar, 82, of Lackawanna, NY entered into eternal rest on March 14, 2014 in Buffalo, NY.

He was born Jan. 30, 1932 in Gowanda, NY, the son of the late George and Angeline (Falzarano) Massar.

Father Massar served the Jamestown, Buffalo and Cheektowaga parishes for the Buffalo Diocese for many years.

He is survived by four siblings, Alexander (Betty) Massar of Tennessee, Joseph (Rosa) Massar of Germany, D.W. Massar of Little Valley, NY and George (Ginny) Massar of Virginia; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Carmella Stark and Caroline Paddock.

Friends may call from 11a.m.12 noon on Saturday March 22, 2014 at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon from the church with Auxiliary Bishop Edward Grosz as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Gowanda, NY.

Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Religious Retirement Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main Street in Gowanda, NY.
