Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association to meet
The first meeting of the year for the Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 in the basement of the Laona Methodist Church, corner of Porter and Wilson Streets, Laona.
Members will discuss preparations for the second annual Plow Day combined with a member gas-up, Saturday, May 10 at and adjacent to the Association grounds, Cemetery Road, Stockton. Work days at the ground start April 2 and follow every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
The 40th annual Antique Equipment Show will be held at the grounds August 15, 16 and 17. This year’s show will feature antique trucks and engines made in New York State.
Other events planned for the year include the May 27 meeting at a special location, the Busti Historical Society grounds. This will include a tour of the restored Grist Mill.
The 2014 officers of the organization are: president Ray Bulger, vice president Chuck Skinner, secretary Sally Bulger, and treasurer Sue Taylor.
The public is welcome at meetings.
Individual memberships are available at $7 per year or $10 family.
The Association is made up of collectors and enthusiasts of antique, obsolete, and otherwise interesting tractors; stationary engines; farm, industrial, and shop equipment; electrical devices; tools; and earlier technology in general.
The group has sponsored an annual show for the enjoyment and education of the public since 1975.
