Linda Ann Parisio

BROCTON – Linda Ann Parisio of Pullman Street, Brocton, NY passed away Wednesday March 19, 2014 in Rochester, NY surrounded by her family and friends.

Born March 13, 1948 in Dunkirk, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thelma (Bellando) Parisio and the late Milo Parisio, both of Brocton, NY.

A Brocton resident all of her life, Linda attended Brocton Central School and then graduated with a teaching degree from SUNY Fredonia. She was also a member of St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church of Brocton, NY where she served as Eucharistic Minister and volunteer.

As a teacher at Westfield Academy and Central School, Linda touched and impacted the lives of the many children she taught. She was a first-grade teach-er for 34 years. Her class-room was always decorated with many educational materials and crafts. Her love of teaching children how to read was demonstrated by the many books she person-ally made available to her students. Linda was sensitive and accommodating to all her students. She was non-judgmental and gave each student the necessary attention required to learn. Linda was animated, intui-tive and had the skill to create a studious atmosphere appropriate for her students.

Linda enjoyed shopping, working outside in her yard, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel and her most recent journeys were spent with her niece and great-nephew Trevor traveling to Italy, London, Paris, Switzerland and Germany.

Linda is survived by her niece Julie (Tim) Freed and two great-nephews, Trevor and Jordan Freed, all of Rochester, NY.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan (Parisio) Suppo.

Funeral services will be held on Monday March 24, 2014 at 10 a.m. from St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church of Brocton, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Walter. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, NY.

Friends are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home 51 Highland Ave., Brocton NY on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9.
