Dunkirk Memorial Unit 62 meets
Dunkirk Memorial Unit 62 of the American Legion Auxiliary met recently in the Post Clubrooms with Del Jusko presiding.
Chaplain Anna Schlichter offered the prayer.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and the preamble of the American Legion Auxiliary were recited in unison.
Membership chairman Audrey Miga reported 126 members to date. She also reported on the lottery that she chaired. It was a huge success. Many thanks to her and her work on this project.
Treasurer Kyle Ahlstrom reported on the finances.
Correspondence was read. A donation to a cancer charity was made. The unit was contacted by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer to request thoughts about a bill that was in the making. A letter was read regarding the countywide meeting at the Falconer Post. Six delegates will attend this county meeting.
The members were asked to help with the Memorial Day Chicken Barbecue and the Spaghetti Dinner March 30. Both will be held at the Post. The membership agreed to change the number required for a quorum to five members.
The group will be sending the veterans in local nursing homes Easter cards with a gift.
The meeting adjourned after a prayer by the chaplain.
