Students from JCC inducted into honor society

Recently 79 students at Jamestown Community College’s Jamestown Campus were inducted into the Alpha Kappa Beta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the national two-year college honor fraternity.

Mark Schultz, principal at Pioneer High School and a 1996 alumnus of JCC, was the guest speaker for the ceremony, which was attended by about 275 friends and family members of the inductees.

A student must achieve at least a 3.50 grade point average to be considered for induction and must have two faculty recommendations.

Local inductees included: Jodi Charlton, Brocton; Jenna Carlstrom, Miguel Parraga, and Jesula Sanon, Cassadaga; Tyneatta Gaines and Nicholas Kobel, Dunkirk; Matthew Bailen, Robert Contiguglia, and Walker O’Neil, Fredonia; Kimberly Gage, Silver Creek; Hunter Caskey, Sarah Hadley, Sarah Little, and Tyler Roesler, Sinclairville; Rebecca Masiker and Brittany Woodard, Stockton; and Gordon Jaynes, Jennifer LaPorte, and Hannah Ossman, Westfield.
