Collage Dancers compete at National Dance Championships

The Collage Performing Arts Center of Fredonia recently competed at the National Dance Championships in Orlando, Fla. The NY Majestic Junior Jazz Dance earned fourth place, missing third place by an eighth of a point. The NY Majestic senior dance team earned fifth place in the pom dance division and sixth place in the jazz dance division. The national competition will be televised on ESPN in April.

The Majestic teams experienced an undefeated successful competition season earning the Dance Division Grand Championship at the Lake Effect Dance Championships in Westfield, SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils championship, CCC Winter Freeze Championships, CheerStarz Championships, Chautauqua Lake Cheer & Dance Champions, Rockin’ Rochester Championships at NCCC and Galaxy Championships held at JCC.

The Collage PAC dance teams qualified for the national dance championships in July at the northeast regional dance championships in Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, both teams earning first place in the pom and jazz division at the regional Championships. The top three scoring teams from the regional championships are eligible to compete at the national competition.

The Junior CPAC team is currently awaiting a bid to the World Dance Championships in April. Both Majes-tic dance teams will be competing in New York City.
