Albert T. Warner
MAYVILLE – Albert T. Warner, 83, born (7/27/30) passed away Tuesday, 4/1/14 at the Erie Veterans Administration Hospice Unit, Erie PA. He proudly served in the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. After being discharged honorably in July 1950, he met and married the love of his life, Jean Tanner Warner, on October 21, 1950.
Albert resided at Mayville NY for many years with Jean until he lost her on Sept. 19, 2010. Since she chose to donate her body to the University of Buffalo, her ashes will now be laid to rest with Albert – together again after nearly 60 years of marriage.
Albert lived a full life, filled with much joy and many sorrows. He lost his right arm in a farming accident while working for Reed Sales Stables in Sherman NY, when only 32 years of age, but then with the support of his wife and family, he purchased a farm in Sherman where they raised their family of 7 children. He also worked at several additional positions outside the dairy farm, including the Portage Hill Ski Center, Jamestown Airport and Chautauqua County Building and Grounds Department in Mayville NY, which he retired from.
Albert was a lifetime member of the Mayville VFW, American Legion, and Mayville Fire Department. He loved playing bingo and made many friends at the games.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Pearl Lewis Warner; brothers Milo, Roy, Charles, Gordon and Harold Warner; sister Bessie Reed King; and two granddaughters, Heather and Tiffany Farnham (2/28/73).
He is survived by his seven children, Susan (Lester) Yokom, Ripley NY; Linda (Howard Frost) Baldwin, Cindy (Rick) Miller, both of Mayville NY; Sandy (Mitch) Farnham, Stockton, NY; Patty Karges Collins, Pittsburgh PA; Robert (Carmen) Warner, Westfield NY and William (Amy) Warner, Sherman NY. He is also survived by sisters and brothers, Phyllis Newman, Sherman NY; Sharon (Morris) Cobb, Stockton NY; George Warner, Florida and Clifford Warner, Hartfield NY.
He also leaves 18 grandchildren, Belinda, Becky, Wayne, Shanda, Sunny, Ricky, Katelynn, Meghan, Mallory, Tabitha, Ryan, Taryn, Joel, Robert, Crystal, Albert, Billy and Hayley. Albert was also blessed with 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom provided many joys and memories for him. He was also blessed with many other family and friends who provided support throughout his life.
Family and friends may call at Freay’s Funeral Home, 139 S. Erie St., Mayville NY on Sunday, April 6th from 1-4:00 pm. A private family burial will be held.
