Donald L. Byrne
Donald L. Byrne, age 81, of Fredonia, died Sunday April 6, 2014 at his home. He was born December 1, 1932 in Ambridge, Penn-sylvania to the late Raymond and Eunice Fields Byrne. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Class of ’54 in Pittsburgh, Don was a metallurgist for Allegheny Ludlum for 41 years. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church in Fredonia. Hummel Byrne, as they started out as high school sweethearts. His children: Patricia Byrne Edwards (Gene), Donald, Jr. (Anita), Thomas
(Seyhun), Mary Beth Cody (Daniel), and Janet Byrne-Safier (Barry); grandchildren: Emily, Joshua, Amy, Tim, Chrissie (Nick), Meghan (David), Tom, Koray, Melisa, Nicholas, Gwenanne, Courtney (Ritwik), Marc (Becky); great-grandchildren: Marlow and Norah; also a brother Raymond “Jerry” Byrne. Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Mannon. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia, N.Y, Thursday morning at 11 a.m. (Please assemble at Church using the side entrance off the parking lot.) All are invited to join the family for lunch at the White Inn, 52 E. Main Street, Fredonia, NY immediately following the Funeral Mass. The interment will be private. Flowers gratefully declined.
