Reed files petitions for Republican, Conservative and Independence Party lines
CORNING – U.S. Rep. Tom Reed’s campaign today released their final petition numbers for ballot placement in the 2014 Congressional race. With over 200 volunteers collecting signatures in all 11 counties, the Reed campaign was able to submit over 8,000 individual signatures.
Signatures were gathered from voters across the 23rd Congressional District including 6,112 Republican signatures; 618 Conservative Party signatures; and 1,728 Independence Party signatures, well exceeding the minimum requirements for each party.
“The strong level of support we received from our volunteers to accomplish this goal is really outstanding,” said Reed. “Later this year, voters will have a clear choice of differing philosophies, I care about the families in our district and these petition signatures demonstrate the outpouring of support to continue our fight for jobs and the future.”
