JCC athletic trainer speaks at NYSSBA convention
Aimee Brunelle, athletic trainer at Jamestown Community College’s Jamestown Campus, outlined post-concussion procedures during the New York State School Boards Association annual convention.
Ms. Brunelle’s program, “Developing a Return to Academics Protocol Following a Concussion,” was presented on behalf of the New York State Athletic Trainers Association (NYSATA).
NYSATA, through its programs, services, and outreach, is focused on enhancing the quality of health care for the physically active.
Ms. Brunelle, an athletic trainer at JCC since 1999, also teaches physical education courses. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Stony Brook University, a master’s degree through Capella University, and a post-master’s certificate at California University of Pennsylvania. She received JCC’s distinguished adjunct faculty award in 2009.
Ms. Brunelle, president-elect of NYSATA, is also a member of national and regional athletic training organizations. She has volunteered for the Chautauqua County Humane Society, Empire State Games and other organizations.
