Westfield Sorority inducts its 2014-2015 officers at birthday celebration
WESTFIELD – The March 17 meeting of Westfield Laureate Alpha Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority was its birthday celebration dinner at the Westfield YWCA. The members exchanged gifts with their Secret Phi Pal. Secret Phi Pals were revealed and new names were chosen for the coming year. The table decorations of shamrock plants were given as door prizes.
A short meeting followed the dinner. A program-on-the-shelf “Handyman’s Household Hints” was turned in by Clara Winkel-man, compliments of Troy Winkelman.
The Service for the month of March was a donation to Hospice. Each member personally donates items to the ANEW Home for Battered Women plus items for the Vietnam vets.
The election of officers for the year 2014-2015 took place. Officers are: president, Carol Link; vice president, Linda Bennett; secretary, Carol Reynolds; and treasurer, Gwen Haskin.
The members voted for “The Girl of the Year” which will not be revealed until Beta Sigma Phi International Founder’s Day. This year, Laureate Alpha Pi Chapter will celebrate Founder’s Day on April 30 at the Bark Grill at 6 p.m. Members, please RSVP to Haskin for your reservation.
The next meeting will be Monday at the Westfield YWCA. The program will be “Famous Folks of Westfield and Chautauqua County.”
